It is pretty amazing to think that Mom makes pretty little quilts like this and then bright, vibrant African wall hangings and quilts. Her work is so varied and always interesting. She is a real inspiration to me and I love being able to share her works with others. I would come visit and she would show me what she had done that day and would be so excited!

Thank you for voting for my quilt at Quilting Gallery! I know what you mean about how difficult it was to cut into the embroidered doilies but you gave then a new life and they will be loved and appreciated once again!Karen Hhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01166374693095867682noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-355830180271785865.post-18127333821755797082013-05-05T05:56:31.295-07:002013-05-05T05:56:31.295-07:00Just a most amazing quilt. I love her quilt - just beautiful and unique! The mix of pretty fabric and embroidery is something that has always appealed to me and years ago I made a quilt with Liberty fabrics patched with cut up embroidered doilies (see this blog post : http://everystitchblog.blogspot.com.au/search/label/Liberty%20lawn) - not embroidered by me unfortunately. So what a thrill to see this one!
HildaEvery Stitchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12573090188337210419noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-355830180271785865.post-8238184785406869852013-05-04T11:41:19.698-07:002013-05-04T11:41:19.698-07:00What a beautiful story and most of all, a beuatifu...What a beautiful story and most of all, a beuatiful memory! It must be hundreds of hours of work she put into it.
