I managed to stitch another GG block last night. These are the four fabrics I chose; I fussy cut the rust print and the black and white print.
This is the block which will be one of the filler blocks for the top and bottom. It is one of a two blocks. The second is cut out and ready to be basted and stitched. The hexagons are 3/4".
I decided that I wanted to use this thread in other places so I used it to quilt the 3"churn dash blocks in the inner border. I stitched in the ditch around the patches in the block and I quilted a little curvy four point star shape in the center of the block. Without the quilting the blocks were a little too puffy but this quilting flattened the block nicely and I am pleased with the look!
Tomorrow I'll be posting block 2 in the Value Proposition QAL. I'll make sure it is post first thing in the morning so that you can get started choosing your fabrics!
Until tomorrow, happy sewing!

I love all the progress you have been making. Your quilting is divine as are your Godstone Grannies. I bet many people would want to make some GG's. They are just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteLooking good! I just wanted to thank you again for the lovely threads Karen - they arrived last week and I posted about them on Monday of this week. Am looking forward to playing with the silk.

ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful. I love your border quilting.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see the progress of your projects. Love how you have done the feather in that last block/photo. I'm just starting to get into using the Superior threads; we don't have quite as many of them available here but what I have used so far, I have liked.
ReplyDeleteLove the GG blocks, the colours are unusual.
