Well yesterday I jumped the gun and drew a name and announced the winner for my Grow Your Blog giveaway, a hardcover needle book. Unfortunately I was one day early so I decided to do another draw so this morning I drew another name. Congratulations to Karen in Breezy Point! You are the winner of the second hardcover needle book. I hope you enjoy it! I've sent you an email to let you know you won.
And I had a lovely surprise - I won a prize in the Grow Your Blog event, a lovely sampler of threads from Lorraine at Colour Complements! You know I love embroidery and embellishments so this is a wonderful prize for me! Can't wait until it arrives so I can get started creating something wonderful with them! Here's what I won....can you say delicious! Lorraine has a shop so if you are tempted you can purchase some lovely threads for yourself!
UPDATE: This morning I thinking I need to make something to protect my scissors and was looking at patterns for scissor pouches. Then I got another email from Sheryl at Sewing After Seven telling me I have won, you guessed it, a beautiful scissor pouch made by Sheryl herself! Who's a lucky girl? Me! This is yet another wonderful prize to go with my gorgeous thread set!
Yesterday I published Step 4 of my Soupcon Quilt Along and in less than twelve hours Heather had completed her block! I provided a number of options the first one of which was a pieced border. I'm so pleased that Heather decided to give it a try! I'm really looking forward to seeing what everyone else does! You can see all of the blocks on the Soupcon FLICKR Group!

But Heather wasn't alone! Clare also go the border on her quilt! For those of you who aren't up to making the pieced border Clare shared a brilliant idea - she is going to applique the squares! What a wonderful alternative!
That's it for today. Until I post again, happy sewing (or in my case embroidering)!
